Position Objective: To oversee the development and execution of the New Orleans Port Project, ensuring smooth operational management during the project phase.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of the New Orleans Port Project, from inception to completion.
- Oversee daily port operations, ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and efficiency standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure project success.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance port productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the project budget and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Address operational issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure continuity of port services.
- Act as the primary liaison with local authorities, clients, shipping companies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage the relevant internal and external teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in port operations or the maritime sector.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, preferably in a port or logistics facility.
- Expertise in managing port operations and making swift, effective decisions in crisis situations.
- Experience in financial accountability and budget management.
- Problem-solving skills to address operational challenges promptly.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Strategic decision-making skills and a capacity to stand behind critical decisions.
- Ability to manage port authority-related processes and build strong relationships with firms, agencies, and other stakeholders.
